As far as American art goes, few paintings are as iconic as Grant Wood’s American Gothic. Fun fact: the couple depicted in the painting were modeled after Wood’s sister and dentist, pictured above posing next to the finished artwork. Did those two ever smile?

First day of grad school.
Ive got about a half hour till I have to leave for the LIRR.
I can’t wait till I get a car. And stop having panic attacks on the highway.
I’m not getting home till like 9 tonight thanks to the train.
But I will have meatloaf waiting for me.
All I wanna do is get on a bus and go straight to Walpole, Massachusetts and hug my favorite person in the whole world.
